    Posted: August 31, 2022

As announced yesterday, the BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is pleased that job action has been halted, and the LDB has resumed operations at its Richmond Distribution Centre and cannabis Customer Care Centre as of today, August 31, 2022. This update is intended to provide some guidance on what wholesale customers can expect over the next few weeks.

We sincerely thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation and we will continue to work closely with you and our industry partners to support a smooth and expedited resumption of operations. Our aim is to ensure to balanced approach to restarting our operations between product receiving and assembly and shipment of customer orders.

We will be contacting suppliers directly if there is a need to reschedule any previously scheduled appointments.

LDB Cannabis Operations will make every effort to be flexible in its receiving times and will accommodate additional receiving appointments where possible in the weeks immediately following the resumption of operations. Please email the RDC Logistics team to schedule appointments: RDClogistics@bcldb.com.

Product registration and price change request services remain unaffected and will continue as per regular operations but there may be longer processing times due to high volume.

The LDB recognizes the impact to vendors during the recent disruption and will continue to stay up to date on regular payables and ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner.

Important service update: LDB Cannabis Operations restart plans

    Posted: August 30, 2022

The BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) is pleased that job action has halted. The LDB remains hopeful while the parties continue to work towards a resolution and looks forward to welcoming back employees and resuming our distribution centre and Customer Care Centre operations beginning Wednesday, August 31, 2022.

We greatly appreciate your continued patience and understanding as it will take a considerable amount of time for BC Cannabis Wholesale operations and service levels to return to normal. We are working closely with our carriers and industry partners to allocate additional resources to support a smooth and expedited resumption of operations.

To allow for the most efficient return to standard service, the Richmond Distribution Centre will focus first on fulfilling and shipping customer orders that were received prior to job action and before 4pm on Friday, August 19, when orders placed via BC Cannabis Wholesale’s website were suspended.

Further information regarding the LDB’s reopening timeline will be shared with you as soon as possible that will include details on how vendor appointments at the distribution centre will be handled.

Important notices for wholesale customers will be posted on the BC Cannabis Wholesale website at www.bccannabiswholesale.com.

Important notices for supplies and vendors will be posted at www.bcldbcannabisupdates.com/supplier-updates.

We thank you again for your patience throughout this time.

Important service update: BC Cannabis Wholesale temporarily suspending online ordering for wholesale customers

    Posted: August 19, 2022

We recognize the BCGEU job action that has closed the BC Liquor Distribution Branch’s (LDB) distribution centres is concerning to wholesale customers, industry partners, suppliers, and other customers.

To mitigate further disruption to customers and support a smoother resumption of normal operations once job action ends. The closing of our distribution centres means we have made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend online wholesale ordering of cannabis. BC Cannabis Wholesale will be immediately suspending the placement of all orders via the BC Cannabis Wholesale website. Order placement will be suspended effective 4 p.m. on August 19, 2022.

    This means, until further notice:

    • BC Cannabis Wholesale will not accept orders placed by wholesale customers
    • Any new orders placed after 4 p.m. on August 19, through the BC Cannabis Wholesale website will be cancelled
    • The LDB’s cannabis distribution centre remains closed and cannot accept or ship product or assemble orders
    • Appointments at the distribution centre are cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date once operations resume
    • Return Merchandize Authorization (RMA) requests will not be processed

Please note that orders that have already been placed via BC Cannabis Wholesale will be assembled and shipped once job action ends and LDB’s Richmond Distribution Centre resumes operations.

Administrative functions continue to be undertaken by the LDB’s Cannabis Operations teams. Additional operations unaffected by the current job action include:

    • Reviewing new product applications
    • Product registration and price change requests
    • Payments to suppliers

Once again, we apologize for this disruption and for the impact to you and your business.

We commit to providing updates to industry on potential impacts as they become known. Important notices for cannabis suppliers will be posted at: https://www.bcldbcannabisupdates.com/supplier-updates

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
